After a few days of testing in Private, Redbridge Eye is now ready to Launch into the public domain. The threads, which start with a post, are set by members and only members may comment. 1. I wish all luck to this new blog.
I don't think much of its name. Could prove fateful

  2. I suppose there could have been an alternative, eg "Deadbridge Spy". But I support "Redbridge Eye" - it's a light-hearted lampoon at something that has taken itself far too seriously, and is now to become even more controlled - Gestapo/ Stasi/ KGB fashion - by "thought police".

  3. I think this blog should dedicate itself to constructively shadowing (and occasionally pre-empting) council business, and keep ordinary Redbridge citizens in mind at all times. What does everybody else think?

  4. My thanks to Weggis for the advice on Recent comments and feeds. Now up!

  5. fleshisgrass - isn't this what Roger Hampson is saying? I take the point that we don't want too much "mission creep" and perhaps "The Monitor" will get some guidellines together in the light of experience?

  6. Well, folks, our blog is up and running.
Redbridge i Version 2, by contrast, arrived late, appears to be a total shambles, and utterly useless. Time for heads to roll at Redbridge, I think, but don't hold your breath!

  7. I see tonight from the Wanstead & Woodford Guardian's website that some prankster has succeeded in getting one over the Redbridge-i censors. Well done that man!

  8. Have you seen the photos of Redbridge somebody has just published on the redisite?
Good enough for the Tate Gallery I would say.
Bad person giving Redbridge a bad name.

  9. I see that Redbridge-i forum has - at last - gone into its new format; only 3 weeks after they closed it in order to change!!

Old saying: "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it". But no doubt the new format is easier for "them" to impose censorship.

  10. I spotted that too, about 3 hours ago, but didn't have the time/opportunity to raise it here. Seems to have happened around 6 hours ago, if I've got it right (which would make it ~ 2 - 3pm)

Quote now works. Preview is offered but I haven't tested it. Everything else remains blocked ...

  11. Well, the new forum/love thy neighbour format is finally launched. Some of the old contributors are back on scene, and new ones have appeared (except, that is, if they only changed their nicknames!).
And, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. What do they do (mostly)? Moan!
